Please note that by using insurance, your therapist is required to give you a clinical diagnosis that goes in your medical record. The clinical diagnosis is based on your current symptoms even though you may have been previously diagnosed. If you do not met criteria for a diagnosis, you will not be able to use your insurance. Your therapist will discuss your diagnosis with you. Your insurance company will know your diagnosis, and the times and dates of services provided. They may request further information to authorize additional services regarding treatment. You may choose to opt-out of using insurance if you have insurance and are not on a Medicaid plan. If you would like to opt-out from the use of insurance, you must notify your therapist or Encourage Counseling Services LLC and request this option.

Payment for Sessions

You are expected to pay for each session at the time it is held, unless agreed to otherwise or unless you have insurance coverage that requires another arrangement. Copays are due at the time of service. Acceptable forms of payment are insurance, cash (exact amount), check, and credit, debit, or HSA card.

If using insurance, you are responsible for providing Encourage Counseling Services LLC with insurance information that is complete and current, including a copy of your insurance card. It is very important that you find out exactly what mental health services your insurance policy covers. We are happy to assist you in this process; however, you are ultimately responsible for understanding your insurance coverage. You are also responsible for payment of any amount that is not paid by your insurance (co-pays, co-insurance, deductibles, and non-covered services).

Session Fees*

$220 Initial Intake and Evaluation Session

$160 Therapy Session, 53+ minutes

$140 Therapy Session, 45 minutes

$160 Family or Couple Therapy Session

$20 Interactive Complexity (Added to session fee when there are communication difficulties or complexities)

*Fee is discounted by 25% when the client does not have insurance or has signed a form to opt-out of the use of insurance and pays the total session fee the same day the session is held.

Good Faith Estimate Notice

  • You have the right to receive a “Good Faith Estimate” explaining how much your mental health care will cost.

  • Under the law, health care providers need to give patients who do not have insurance or who have opted-out of the use of their insurance an estimate of the expected charges for medical services, including psychotherapy services.

  • You have the right to receive a Good Faith Estimate for the total expected cost of any non-emergency healthcare services, including psychotherapy services.

  • You can ask your health care provider, and any other provider you choose, for a Good Faith Estimate before you schedule a service.

  • If you receive a bill that is at least $400 more than your Good Faith Estimate, you can dispute the bill. Make sure to save a copy or picture of your Good Faith Estimate.

  • For questions or more information about your right to a Good Faith Estimate, visit www.cms.gov/nosurprises.

Please let us know if you have any questions about payment and the use of insurance. We are happy to help in any way we can.
